The purpose of this wiki is to document the history of streets across Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its primary purpose is to document:

  * Street name origin
  * Significant historical events in the street
  * Significant people who were born, lived or died in the street

There are several namespaces that act as page categories. These are:

  * <wrap hi>street</wrap>: used for specific street pages
  * <wrap hi>suburb</wrap>: helper pages that list streets automatically by suburb
  * <wrap hi>meta</wrap>: pages related to the operation of the wiki (e.g. help pages)
